Abstract:
ACA-AA3, aluminum acetylacetonate, is aluminum chelate with acetylacetone as chelating agent. It is a high efficient crosslink agent for many coatings and inks.
Applications and Performance:
This product can be used as an adhesion promoter, cross-linker and hardener for epoxy, acrylic, phenolic, and silicone resins. It reacts with functional groups such as -OH or -COOH groups of polymers, mineral substrate or metals effecting coating, adhesion promotion or cross-linking of polymers.
However it is frequently used for cross-linking in nonaqueous systems, catalysis, and surface modification. Compared to its counterpart, titanium acetylacetonate, it has better thermal stability and is not easy to discoloration.
When it is used in coatings and inks the below effects could be achieved: crosslinking the binders giving faster drying, solvent resistance, heat resistance and improved adhesion to substrates (such as aluminum, polyolefins films), binder component for high temperature paints.
Packing:
The regular packing of this product is fiber drum and 25kg/drum.
Storage and Shelf Life:
Should be stored in dry, cool, ventilated room; keep away from water, moisture, high temperature and fire. This product has a shelf life of at least 12 months if stored in tightly closed original container at room temperature.
If this product is kept beyond the shelf life recommend on the product label, it is not necessarily unusable, but a quality control should be performed on the properties relevant to the application.
